Key dates

Each university sets its own enrolment windows; the dates listed are the University of Buenos Aires'. Check how a university enrols foreign applicants without an Argentine DNI.

Your checklist

The usual steps for an international student applying to a bachelor's in Argentina, in order. Tick them off as you go — your ticks stay in this browser, with no account.

1.Choose a university and programme, and read its admission (ingreso) rules — many national universities have an introductory cycle or course.
2.Have your foreign secondary diploma convalidated (countries with an agreement) or recognised (other countries) through the Ministry's national validity office — it's free; documents must be legalised or apostilled.
3.Pre-register or enrol with the university in its window.
4.Prove Spanish proficiency if your secondary schooling wasn't in Spanish, as the university requires.
5.Apply at an Argentine consulate for a student visa — there are separate visas for stays under and over 365 days.
6.Complete the introductory cycle or entry course and start your degree.
