There is no central application system: you apply to each institution directly. Programmes usually start: September–October (autumn semester).

- International students apply directly to each university, which sets its own admission conditions; the national exam (YKS) is for Turkish students. Türkiye Scholarships is a separate central route that places scholarship holders at a university.

- Proof of Turkish for Turkish-taught programmes or of English for English-taught ones.
Key dates
Each university sets its own application period for international students. Türkiye Scholarships, which combines a scholarship with a university place, shows an annual application period of 10 January–20 February, with results in early August; its page gives no year.
