πΈπ° How to apply to university in Slovakia
There is no central application system: you apply to each institution directly. Programmes usually start: September.
Checked on 23 October 2026 against the official sources listed below.
The essentials
- Application system
- None β apply to each institution on its own website.
- When programmes start
- September.
- International applicants
- International students apply directly to the faculty or university; there is no central application. EU/EEA students study under the same conditions as Slovak students and need no visa.
- Language
- Slovak for Slovak-taught programmes and English (or the teaching language) for foreign-language programmes, at the level each faculty sets.
Key dates
Each faculty sets its own admission criteria, deadline and required documents; we found no national calendar to cite. Check the faculty's admission notice early β non-EU applicants also need time for the residence permit.
The dates for the next intake haven't been published yet. We add them once the official source does.
Your checklist
The usual steps for an international student applying to a bachelor's in Slovakia, in order. Tick them off as you go β your ticks stay in this browser, with no account.
