The two figures for each programme are the state study allocations the ministry set for 2026-27: scholarships (bourses), and a second quota that counts aid places (aides universitaires) at the classical faculties and partly-paid places (formations partiellement payantes, FPP) at the professional schools and institutes. They are funded places, awarded through the national platform apresmonbac.bj to eligible candidates (as the decree on study allocations defines them) in order of merit — the bac-mark ranking, or the exam where entry is by concours. They are not a programme's capacity and not a cut-off: fully-paid places (formations entièrement payantes) are allotted after them and are not counted in the guide. A programme with no funded places listed is not necessarily closed.

The guide is written for new bac holders in Benin — Beninese holders of a bac obtained abroad file a paper application to join the platform — and it describes no route for international students. Funded places are not a scholarship a foreign student can apply for.

Entry is either by ranking (classement) — candidates for each programme are ranked on the average of three main bac subjects, each weighted by its coefficient in the candidate's bac series — or by competitive exam (concours). The subjects column shows the subjects the guide names for each programme; candidates make three choices on the platform.

What isn't here

The guide gives funded-place quotas, entry mode, bac series and ranking subjects for the programmes with state-funded places, and only programme names for private institutions; there are no student numbers, fees, cut-off averages or graduate outcomes per institution.

Names of establishments and programmes, bac series and subjects are in French as the guide writes them (abbreviations from the guide's own list: SVT — life and earth sciences; PCT — physics, chemistry and technology; DEAT — diploma of agricultural and tropical studies; FPP — partly-paid programme; FEP — fully-paid programme). English university names are our translation.
