Your checklist

The usual steps for an international student applying to a bachelor's in Cameroon, in order. Tick them off as you go — your ticks stay in this browser, with no account.

1.Choose an institution: one of the 11 state universities, or a private institution the ministry has authorised — check it in the ministry's directory or its current list of private institutions.
2.At a private institution, check which diploma each programme leads to and which university supervises it academically (tutelle académique) — the directory names both.
3.Check the language of teaching: institutions teach in French, in English or in both.
4.Ask the institution whether your foreign school-leaving certificate needs an equivalence; the Ministry of Higher Education's site has an 'Equivalences' section.
5.For a selective school (medicine, engineering, teacher training and similar), watch the ministry's 'Concours' announcements for the entrance exam's dates and conditions.
6.Apply to the institution directly — the University of Buea, for example, takes applications through its online admission portal.
7.Pay the registration fee the institution sets; the University of Buea publishes its own fees, other institutions on request.
