How to read this
HEA's list is its extract of the State Register of accredited higher-education institutions. Under the Framework Law on Higher Education, higher-education institutions are universities and visoke škole (colleges); both are listed. HEA keeps the register — institutions are founded and licensed by the competent education authority named on each row.
Accreditation periods are as the register lists them on the date shown. They are not a statement that an institution is accredited today. Many periods are listed as starting on 15 August 2007; the register doesn't say why. Where the latest period listed ended before the list's own date and no closure is noted, we say so and nothing more. The list is dated 17 August 2026.
Higher education is the responsibility of Republika Srpska, the cantons of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Brčko District. Each row names the competent education authority as the register gives it; seats are as the register writes them.
The register gives no fees, programmes or student numbers. Each institution sets its own fees and admission; ask the institution, and check what applies to students from abroad.
No fees, entry scores, enrolment or graduate outcomes are in the register, so this is a directory, not a matcher.
