JEE closing ranks: JoSAA 2026, final round

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority publishes the opening and closing rank of every seat allocation round for the IITs, IISc, NITs, IIEST, IIITs and the other government-funded technical institutes. We hold the final round of every year from 2016 to 2026: in 2026, 12,936 programme × quota × seat type × gender rows across 1,038 programmes at 138 institutes (24 IITs and IISc, 32 NITs and IIEST, 26 IIITs, 56 other GFTIs). A closing rank is what happened in a past round — the worst rank allotted a seat — not an entry requirement or a prediction, and JoSAA publishes no fees. Each institute has a page; the matcher compares your JEE (Advanced) or JEE (Main) rank, category and Class XII state with every row.

Why there are no fees, rankings or salaries on this page

What there now is: JoSAA's closing ranks for the 138 institutes it allocates seats to (above). For every other institution — and for fees, rankings and graduate earnings everywhere — the position below still holds.

India doesn't publish them openly

There is no Indian equivalent of the US College Scorecard. No public dataset gives per-institution tuition or what graduates go on to earn, and entry cut-offs exist as open data only for the JEE seat allocation (JoSAA, above) — not for NEET, CUET or the state exams. The NIRF rankings exist but are All Rights Reserved. The NITI Aayog data platform reserves all rights too.

The numbers you see elsewhere are unsourced

Indian comparison sites show fee ranges and star ratings for thousands of colleges. Those figures generally carry no stated source or methodology, and many of those sites earn money by passing your details to the colleges they rank. We would rather show you less and tell you where it came from.

Where this list comes from: Wikidata, released under CC0. It is community-maintained, not an official government register — so it will have gaps and the occasional error. The Ministry of Education's AISHE directory is the authoritative source; we have asked for permission to use it and will switch the moment it is granted.
