What a licence and accreditation mean here, and what isn't shown
Every higher-education institution in Mongolia needs a licence (тусгай зөвшөөрөл) from the Ministry of Education to teach. The register gives each institution's licence class — university (их сургууль), institute (дээд сургууль) or college (коллеж) — its ownership, and the dates its licence was issued and runs to. A licence says the institution may operate; it says nothing about quality.
Accreditation is separate: the National Council for Education Accreditation (Боловсролын магадлан итгэмжлэлийн үндэсний зөвлөл) evaluates institutions as a whole and individual programmes, for a fixed term. Statuses and dates here are as the Ministry's lists give them on the dates shown. A term that has ended since may have been renewed, and the lists don't say whether it was — check with the council before relying on any of it.
The programme list is the Ministry's list of programme accreditation decisions as uploaded in December 2024: one row per decision, with the date it is valid to. A programme that isn't listed may never have been evaluated. Some rows name a faculty or branch rather than the institution, or spell its name differently; they're filed under the institution, with the name the list uses.
Mongolia publishes no enrolment, fees, entrance-exam (ЭЕШ) cut-offs or graduate outcomes per institution as open data, so none are shown.
Names are the registered Mongolian names. English names are Wikidata's where it has one for the institution, otherwise our translations (дээд сургууль is translated “institute”).
